Meet Blast, a project developed at ÉCAL under the guidance of Julia Esque, in collaboration with  swiss company IIODE and their Re27 bulb. Exploring how sandblasted metal surfaces shape the behaviour of light, turning reflection into a spatial experience through subtle variations in texture and finish.

The research draws inspiration from the visual language of the Space Age and the futuristic architecture of Hotel Jested (1973) by Karel Hubacek. The sculptural form of the bulb brings this exploration full circle.
